Recycled Lubricating Oil
We are a renowned entity deeply committed to offering a premium-quality range of Recycled Lubricating Oil. The process we employ closely resembles that of virgin oil production.
Initially, the used oil is stored in a tank, often referred to as raw waste oil. During this phase, any free water in the oil naturally settles to the bottom, where it can be subsequently removed, treated through a waste water treatment process, and discharged in compliance with local regulations, either into the sewer system or stormwater channels.
Next, we proceed with filtering and demineralization, a crucial step aimed at eliminating inorganic materials and specific additives from the used oil. This meticulous process yields a cleaner burner fuel or feedstock for re-refining.
The demineralized oil is then meticulously filtered to remove suspended fine particles, which are categorized as solid waste. This refined oil is then directed to storage as a clean burner fuel. It can further be diluted or "cut" with a lighter petroleum product, known as cutter stock, to create a range of intermediate to light fuel oils, depending on the specific viscosity requirements of the burner.
The heart of our operation lies in the distillation process, where we achieve the physical separation of various components within lubricating oil based on their boiling ranges. Distillation plays a pivotal role in our facility's capability to produce re-refined base oils equivalent in quality to virgin base oil.
One of the key elements in our re-refining process is vacuum distillation. In cases where atmospheric distillation is employed, the output from the atmospheric distillation column serves as the feedstock for the vacuum distillation column. Vacuum distillation allows for the separation of the feedstock into products with similar boiling ranges, enhancing our control over the physical properties of the lube base stock "distillate cuts" that we derive from the vacuum tower products.
Vacuum distillation plays a crucial role in regulating properties such as viscosity, flash point, and carbon residue. The viscosity of our lube-oil base stock depends on the relative viscosity separation of the distillate, which can result in light, medium, or heavy oil products.
Our process involves heating the used oil feedstock, typically sourced from the atmospheric distillation unit, in a furnace. This heated mixture of liquid and vapor is then directed to the heated vacuum distillation column. Here, the vaporous portion ascends while the liquid descends. Steam may be introduced to aid in vaporization.
As the hot vapors rise within the column, they gradually cool and some condense back into a liquid state, flowing back down the column. Simultaneously, some of the downward-flowing liquids are re-vaporized upon contact with the rising hot vapors. Special devices within the column facilitate this continuous cycle of upward vapor flow and downward liquid flow.
